This Spring, I took a trip to Alberta, Canada, where we explored the city of Calgary (including a preview of the famous Calgary Stampede), the gorgeous town of Banff, and the breathtaking beauty of Lake Louise. The expansive landscapes, grandiose mountains, crisp air, challenging hiking, horseback riding, vibrant wildlife, warm hospitality, and the most charming alpine tea house I’ve ever been to in my life, are just a few reasons that this part of the world speaks to my soul. The trip is on my personal list for the highlights of 2011, not least of which because I met two lovely fellow journalists on the trip, Lanee Neil and Karen Loftus, who have not only become regular travel companions, but also wonderful friends. Above is a video from Travel Alberta that shares some of the province’s beauty. Enjoy!

Hi Lindsay. Have you been to Jasper Alberta three hours north of Banff? I went there two years ago and was so impressed that I will go every year now. Plus, the most breathtaking part of Banff is the northern border, in my opinion. I love Canada!
I love it too! Especially the Canadian Rockies. No, never been to Jasper — it’s on my list though for next time!!
Wow that water is amazing. Too cold to go for a swim though.
It must be so nice there in the summer.
