Fashion for Paws Runway Rundown

Last weekend, my latest rescue pup Holly and I headed east to our nation’s capital for the 5th Annual Fashion for Paws Runway Show benefiting the Washington Humane Society. Supermodel walks aside, my first time traveling with my 8-month-old, 11 pound Beagle/Italian Greyhound/who-knows-what mix was quite simply diva-rific.

Holly was a star from the moment we got to LAX. I woke up at 5 a.m. on the day of departure to take her and my other two dogs for a long run, so she’d be good and tired for the flight. The Virgin America check-in, with its super-cool lighting and upbeat music is conveniently at the end of terminal three, which has a “pet relief area” just an elevator ride away, so dogs can relieve themselves prior to going through security or arriving at baggage claim. The flight was uneventful and with an entire row to ourselves, I was able to break the rules and let Holly sleep on my lap during the entire flight, hidden underneath my coat!
