It’s not every day that you host a party. It’s certainly not every day that you host one at your house and open it up to friends, family, and “Fashion for Paws!” In the final stretch of my fundraising efforts for the big runway show on April 9th at the National Building Museum, the housewarming-party-turned-fundraising-extravaganza was a huge success.
Before we talk about the fun, let’s just say the party almost didn’t happen. The Sunday before, Los Angeles got dumped on with eight inches on rain in just a few hours. For most of the country and world, this is nothing extraordinary, but for the rain-fearing and ill-prepared Angelenos with clogged storm drains and horrific driving skills, let’s just say, Ventura Boulevard turned into a river, emergency sirens filled the air, and my driveway and backyard grew into a lake!
